F.A.Q
3D scanning services starts at $155 per hour. This is the rate for in-house scanning, performed in our office by our technicians.Â
Yes, we service clients both domestic and international. Projects are shipped in and scanned daily. You can provide a return label or be billed for return shipping. Once the project is scanned, our team can send it back out for you.Â
3D laser scanning works by preparing laser triangulation. The object to be scanned is prepared with reflective targets that the scanner records by bouncing lasers on and back to the scanner. Between these targets, a digital mesh is recorded, identifying different surfaces, dimensions, and features. This scan data digitally records all that it seems into a 3D model.Â
Immediate data from 3D laser scanning is prepared in the native software. All scan data must be post processed with the quickest files being prepared as STL and OBJ files. Scan data can be reverse engineered to create CAD files; STEP, IGES, and XT.
Tangent Solutions main office is located in Irvine, in the heart of Orange County, Southern California. Our services are available to all domestic and international clients as our technology is completely mobile.Â
Mobile 3D scanning services, data analysis, product development consulting, CAD design services, and reverse engineering.Â
Our scanning platform is completely mobile and fits into the overhead compartment of a commercial airliner. Based on that mobility, many clients throughout the US schedule us to scan on-site for large, stationary projects. Smaller projects can be shipped into our office.Â
